Getting Back To Your Roots
18 February 2010

All this soccer fever has got us Birds feeling patriotic and proud - and loving local.

That's why, when it comes to our pamper sessions, we're going back to our roots. Quite literally, in fact, because MatsiMela, the name of our new favourite treat, means ‘roots' in Sotho.

One of the things that we love most about this gorgeous range of scrubs, body butters, oils and bath goodies is that we feel like true Mzansi madames when we use it. For a start, all the ingredients used are sourced in South Africa, and every product is made right here, too. So, not only are we doing our bit for the local economy and job creation, but no fancy imports means no fancy prices, either.

The ingredients are also typically South African: the range includes variants like Rooibos and Honey, Marula Nut, Aloe Ferox and Baobab Seed; all specially chosen for their ability to make us feel like satin-skinned goddesses, and because they're indigenous to our shores. The folks at MatsiMela are also working towards making sure that everything used in the products is 100% natural, so you can tick the ‘green' box too.

What gets us most, though, is the luxurious feel of the products. The body butters, for example, contain a huge dollop of shea butter, which makes them truly indulgent, while the salt scrubs are made with pure organic Kalahari salt for a divine detox and the mud scrub contains silica sand particles to polish your skin perfectly.

And all at really stunning prices: you'll pay just R12 for a fizzball, up to R90 for tissue oil.

MatsiMela has stores at Broadacres Lifestyle Centre in the Garden Shop and Clearwater Mall, and is available at a number of spas, too.

To find out more, visit the MatsiMela Website or call them (011) 462 0700.
