If like us, you have been completely immersed in soccer fever... well, you may have been a little shattered, devastated, perhaps even a little suicidal at last night's outcome. But hey, we soldier on gals!

In a slightly forlorn mood this morning, nothing cheers a Bird up more than the thought of good food.

Now not all of us gals have the desire to make great food. But all chicks have the innate desire to eat great food... Whether it's repressed or not ladies, it's in our DNA!

Enter the newest chick on the Hummingbird scene, BirdyYumYum, a gal who dreams, breathes and obsesses about all things edible, and looks damn hot while doing it.

If you count yourself as part of the culinary-conscious (or just a gal whose desperate to take her cooking skills beyond a boiled egg) follow YumYum as she eats her way through Joburg and lets you know what's hot, melting, scrummy, and delectable that you absolutely have to drop everything you're doing right now and get your taste buds around this instant.

There will be no preachy pontificating from this little beak, just thoughts, opinions, musings, and of course her very own kitchen successes and disasters (hopefully not!)... all from a bird who just loves to eat.
She will say this: No girl wants her boep burgeoning out of her Ben Shermans, so BirdyYumYum will aim to keep it, err... healthy.

But there will be times when life just calls for a big, fat slice of chocolate cake!

And it will be a cake that tastes the way a chocolate cake should. No sugar-free sugar, chocolate-free chocolate and fat-free butter, but just life in the fabulous chocolate cake lane. You'll read about the last morsel that dissolves into YumYum's mouth and find your own wooden spoon and mixing bowl before you've finished reading to the end...
